Trevor Young (BBS)
PARTNER
Moved to Wanganui in 1992 after completing a Bachelor of Business Studies at Massey University, Palmerston North, to manage a sheep & beef farming property in partnership with his parents who owned a Four Square & Tearooms Business in Ngaruawahia at the time.
The farm was leased out in 1997 when he moved into the accountancy profession with a large local firm starting as a junior client manager, progressing up to Associate before leaving to start Adept Accountants.
Trevor has a varied client base with a passion to assist his clients to reach their business and personal goals. In his spare time, he manages the families farming property, as the original property was sold in 2016 and a new property purchased. Trevor and his partner Rochelle have 2 adult daughters between them.
Taryn Phillips (CA)
PARTNER
Taryn brings with her over 25 years professional services experience focusing on private business. She has been an Associate Partner in Wanganui for over 20 years and brings with her a wide range of experience and skills across a variety of accounting fields.
One of Taryn’s strengths is small to medium business, “I endeavor to know where the pressure points are for my clients, what they need to look for, sometimes they simply want advice, someone to bounce an idea off, that’s the bit I find so rewarding.” Those ideas come in the shape of down to earth, practical advice which is a hallmark of Adept Accountants.
Taryn is married to Jeff and they have two daughters. She likes to focus her free time on exercise, family and friends, be it socialising or enjoying a glass of wine and something good to eat. She has been Treasurer of the Kaierau Rugby Football Club and Rivercity Squash Club and is an active follower of Wanganui Rugby.
